MHADA Scheme for Senior Citizens 2013

The Maharashtra Government is planning for a housing scheme for senior citizens. The scheme would be executed by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) in Mumbai and other satellite towns.

The Minister of State for Housing, Mr. Sachin Ahir has recently announced the new scheme and said that MHADA will be executing and implementing the new housing scheme for senior citizens.

The housing scheme for senior citizens would be implemented in the same way like the allotment of house flats for LIG, MIG and HIG classes by MHADA lottery.

The MHADA has decided to build a special housing colony in Ratnagiri only for senior citizens. The details of the plan are still being worked out, but it is understood that the MHADA colony for senior citizens would comprise of one-floor row of houses.

MHADA is trying to acquire a land in Ratnagiri area for the development of houses for senior citizens. The Minister also said that apart from the row houses, the colony also will have hospital, library, community halls and many other facilities for senior citizens.

The scheme of housing for senior citizens by MHADA would be similar to MHADA online house booking system. The online application forms will be available on the MHADA official website and senior citizens have to fill up the forms with all the details. The lucky draw will be drawn with MHADA lottery system for senior citizens and the houses will be allotted to the winners of the lottery.
